Nancy O'Dell's debut position in the broadcasting industry was as a reporter/anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then, she joined WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston on how Charleston police handled DUI cases with care, caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division. The inquiry led to a stronger direction for state officials. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Media Award South Carolina by the Associated Press. In the years following her stint in Charleston O'Dell was a anchor, co-anchor, and investigative reporter for NBC's Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to joining Access Hollywood as a weekend co-anchor and weekday correspondent.
